Race Info The 5th Annual Magrath Triathlon, Saturday July 19/2008, provides a number of participation choices for athletes this year. It includes an open water swim, a scenic rural bike route, and a run through the community of Magrath. The Magrath Triathlon is intended to be a fun athletic event for all participants, providing an introduction to the sport of triathlon for the first-timer, or a competitive challenge for more advanced athletes. Participants will include a variety of athletic abilities. Please be courteous of other racers and our community.

There will be a cap of 250 entrants. Please register early. Registration will be closed July 13/08.

No refunds available. There will be a 1$ handling charge for all paper entries. In the event that you are not able to participate, race package will be held for pick-up up to one week following race. Please see contact information.
Procedure on race day:
Registration:
- Thursday, July 17, 2008 – Lethbridge pre – registration – 7-9PM - Family Medical Clinic – 2931 20 Ave S – North East from Montana's Restaurant.
- 5:00pm - 7:00pm Friday, July 18, 2008, Magrath Pre – registration – Magrath Swimming Pool
- 6:15am – 7:45am – St. Mary Reservoir North boat launch (see map) - registration and transition #1 set-up. Signs will be posted
- you will be given your race package when you register, including your race number and 2 race gear bags identified by your race number
- You will set-up your swim-bike transition area, then drive to transition area #2 (located near the Finish line) and set up your bike-run transition
- Ample parking is available at LDS Church in Magrath. Please see the map for an outline of the course and highlights of other important locations on race day (parking, registration, transition zones, etc.)
- All participants competing in the swim and/or bike will be shuttled to the start area from the finish line with the bus leaving at 8:15 AM sharp.
- Please note that the registration process, including transition set-up will take a minimum of 50 minutes.
Race start: Olympic 8:45 am – Sprint 9:15 am.
Timing and Results:
This is a chipped timed race provided by Randy & Sue Moroz. You will receive your chip when you register on race day at St. Mary Reservoir North boat launch 6:15 am - 7:45 am so please allow yourself plenty of time. Carefully follow the instructions to attach your chip and then ensure that you cross the mat at each transition area and the end of the race. For your information, timing splits are as follows:

Prizes:
Prizes from our local sponsors will be distributed by random draw following the race. Check race board for results.
Water/Medical:
Water will be available at each transition area and on the 10km run. Ambulance and EMT service will be available on the route.
Race Waiver:
You will be required to sign a waiver – no waiver, no race :( All participants under 18 years of age are required to have their parent or legal guardian sign on their behalf.
